Protect Homeowner

Homeowner Horror Experiences

  • Has anyone experienced a Contractor not completing a job and walking away with your money?
  • How about a Contractor not paying the Sub-Contractors and you get served with a lien on your property (home)?
  • How about a sub-quality job (outcome) and no recourse to recover your funds, except for litigation?

What is the solution?

Solution: The solution is for the homeowner to become an informed consumer.

  • One of our services is to research the contractor and generate a Summary Report. This report will entail the following:
    • License verification (if applicable)
    • Evaluate Contractor deposit requirements
    • Permit requirements
    • Number of years in service
    • COI verification (certificate of insurance if applicable)
    • Complaint(s) -verified if Florida licensed
    • Verify team member arrangement -employees vs. sub-contractors
    • Phone interviews with referral contacts (minimum of 3)
    • Verify business tax ID and tax election -sole proprietor, partnership, LLC, C Corporation, S Corporation
    • Surety Bond-determine applicability
    • Assess warranties, indemnifications

Note: Collecting data is an important element of the analysis process; if the proper data is not collected, any decision based on it, will not be an accurate decision.

Recommendations

It is our goal to provide the consumer with information in order to promote an educated decision as to a Contractor's credibility. We will review the proposals for descriptive content, timeframe, billing requirement, additional service fee structure.

Other Services-Construction

  • Set up Bank Escrow Account
  • Procure applicable surety bond
  • Mediate discrepancies between contractor and homeowner (consumer)
  • Include "time certain" (time benchmark) verbiage in contract
  • Refer qualified contractors
  • Other requests as needed

Summary:

As a homeowner, protect yourself!
