Diagnostic Testing, as prescribed by a physician, is normally required in order to assist in the determination and/or treatment of an illness or injury. These tests provide vital information necessary for treatment and a hopeful positive outcome. Equipment must be current in its technology in order to provide the most interpretive value. Medical technology is constantly changing as companies constantly seek improvements in their diagnostic capabilities and thus, a competive edge in the marketplace.
Conclusion:
When a diagnostic test is required, ask the testing facilty the age of equipment that will be used. Normally, equipment that is over 5 years of age may still provide interpretive value, but not optimal value. In other words, don't you want the most current technology used when your safety and well being is at risk?
